FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ENERCON America Distribution Limited MONTREAL, CANADA, June 30, 1998: The Tirex Corporation (OTC BULLETIN BOARD "TXMC") announced today that ENERCON America Distribution Limited of Dublin, Ohio has notified Tirex that it is ready to finalize and execute a contract for the lease and purchase of two of Tirexs patented, fully automated, turn-key scrap tire recycling plants (TCS-1s) on terms previously discussed with Tirex. Enercon has advised Tirex that the contemplated purchase is fully funded and that Enercon will not have to seek any additional financing to cover the full lease and purchase price of US $6,000,000 for the two Systems or to meet the milestone payments during the construction phase, which the parties have previously discussed. Enercon and Tirex expect to finalize and execute the purchase and lease agreement for the two TCS-1s during the next two weeks. Enercon has requested delivery of the System on or before June 30, 1999 and Terence C. Byrne, Tirexs president has stated that he foresees no problem in meeting such delivery schedule. Enercons two TCS-1s will represent the twelfth and thirteenth Systems for which Tirex has received orders (nine of which were from one customer and its affiliates, the first of which has been constructed, accepted, and paid for, and is presently being operated on a phase-two test basis). Completion and consummation of all currently outstanding TCS-1 contracts, together with the two contemplated Enercon Systems, would represent US $36,250,000 in revenues to Tirex, but such outcome is entirely dependent upon the TCS-1s meeting performance expectations, each customers obtaining lease, or other financing (if needed) for the purchased portions of the Systems as well as all required permits and licenses to operate a System and to Tirexs obtaining sufficient production financing. |
